• Classic Skirting Boards

Skirting Boards were traditionally made of hardwoods such as Jarrah, but now the building industry has now moved on to more cost effective variations such as MDF - Medium Density Fibreboard, which is an engineered wood product made by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals in to wood fibres, combining it with wax and resin to form panels by applying high temperature and heat.

MDF is now the most popular skirting board on the market.

The advantages of MDF are, it is less expensive than hardwood, can be profiled in to many different shapes, is straight and more importantly flexible than timber which means we can get a better fit and installation when walls and floors are not 100% true.

Painted skirting boards add contrast between the floors and walls, emphasising that finished look and defining each area perfectly.
